On Tour
Theater AINSI, Maastricht
Bar open 19.30, start programme 20.30. Program in Dutch.
Which maps and atlases deserve to be retired? With Free the Map, border professor Henk van Houtum has written a fiery argument about how we need to shift our worldview and break free from those lines and arrows on maps. Tonight, he'll give a mini-lecture that will change the way you look at maps.
Limburg dancers Zoë Greten and Bo Jacobs are pushing boundaries, both literally and figuratively. They'll perform a piece from Unveiling Echoes in which two bodies mirror each other, blurring the lines between ourselves and others. Journalist Jorie Horsthuis takes us to Nagorno-Karabakh, the country that ceased to exist two years ago. Graphic designer Floor Koomen zooms in on postage stamps where geopolitics is played out down to a square centimeter and explains why so many fake islands are rising in the South China Sea. There's also a nerdy quiz by researcher Suzanne Hendriks with some legit flag waving.

DE FACTO is a project of graphic designer Floor Koomen, journalist Jorie Horsthuis and researcher Suzanne Hendriks. This event is supported by Fonds BJP, BNG Cultuurfonds and Stimuleringsfonds voor de Journalistiek.
