De Facto Live on Tour #5
On Tour #5
Mimik, Deventer
Start programme 20.00, free drink after the show. Programme in Dutch.
On Wednesday 29th of January, writer Eva Vriend will be our guest, whose book about the former island of Schokland won the prize for best non-fiction of the year on Radio 1. What happens to a population when a place disappers? And how do you start a community on new land?
There will be music by Alex Tugushin, born in a Russian-speaking family in Ukraine. As sound engineer he went with Jelle Brandt Corstius to the Ukranian frontlines for a new TV series. What was it like to be there? And how did the war affect his life?
As always, graphic designer Floor Koomen will dive into something small that tells a big story. What does the # symbol mean on the stamps of Celestia, a country you can't find anywhere on earth, but is in space? There will be some flag waving at nerdy quiz by Suzanne Hendriks and the evening is moderated by Jorie Horsthuis. Hope to see you there!
DE FACTO is a project of graphic designer Floor Koomen, journalist Jorie Horsthuis and researcher Suzanne Hendriks.
